Movies are the condensation of a society. Chinese movies are the best textbook ever for you to know about China. Chinese movies are mainly divided into three parts: Mainland movies, Hong Kong movies and Taiwan movies. Movies made in these three places can differ in style from each other to a large extent for geographical and social reasons. On the other hand, they could form complement each other because they all arise from a single Chinese culture.
We have many reasons to invite you to attend this cultural course:
⊕We are inviting you to take a closer look at the social and cultural state of China
through the movies;
⊕We are inviting you to comment on the movies according to the different social
concepts and cultural differences you have noticed in them and to discuss them
with the other students. Movies can really be an excellent stimulus for comment;
⊕Watching movies is in itself a way of silent affective interaction;
⊕Watching movies also give you a great opportunity to practice listening to Chinese
as you are entertained;
⊕We hope that you can also bring movies from your own country so that everyone
can share together.
